With her series of mixed media work called Millennium Ghosts, West asks the viewer to consider the mystery of calendar time. Your sense of linear time may be suspended by mysterious, dreamlike elements offering glimpses of the past. Images weave in and out like fragments of history excavated to the surface over two thousand years. Appearing like old parchment inscribed with the year in roman numerals, this work is in fact a sophisticated combination of computer print and wax. Ancient techniques are combined with new to create this intriguing artwork.
